Keeping in touch

INTERNATIONAL roaming charges can be a nightmare for the mobile phone-using traveller.

But now there's vRoam, a post-paid service offering savings of up to 40 per cent and extending to more than 25 countries in Europe, North America and Asia.

Users get a new SIM card with its own local overseas number. Travellers divert their existing Australian mobile phone number to vRoam's Follow Me service, which allows them to remain in touch on their normal Australian mobile number as well.

The card allows any calls to be made at close to local rates, says the provider, and avoids international roaming charges.

vRoam also offers high-speed remote access to the Internet and email from more than 20,000 points across 150 countries. Contact: http://www.vRoam.com.
